This should be an easy one. It seems like a lot of taller guys prefer a higher brace height, like about 8". I'm just wondering what you pro shooters prefer in relation to your draw length. BTW mine happens to be 30". Thanks, Dan

As much as I do appreciate input from anyone and everyone, I would just like to keep this thread uncluttered. Feel free to PM me though. :) Thanks.

I personally don't have a preferred brace height. At 28 in. draw, I can get by with less brace height than you at 30 in. draw when looking at forgiveness. I generally go with as much brace height as I can and still get the speed I'm looking for. At my draw length its just not in the cards to get the speed I'm looking for out of a 8 in. plus brace height bow. My set-ups usually fall between 7 & 7 1/2 inches, and probably are forgiving as 8 inch plus on your draw length because of the time it takes for each of our arrows to get off the rest.

Thanks Loren,
Every bit of info I can pick up here is especially valuable to me since I live in an area where archery isn't popular enough to support an archery store where I can actually handle a bow before buying my next one.
Also the travel expense and lost wages to take time off work and get to a proper store where I can try some out would cost me as much again the bow itself.
Thanks again, Dan

I am kinda with Loren to some extent. I do not want to shoot a bow with less than 7 3/4". But I find myself shooting 8" most generally. However, I would shoot a bow with 14" BH if I could get the speed and it shot good. I usually just want it to be forgiving. :D

Thanks Nathan,
14" lol. On a bad day I could use 24" myself.
Of the MOJO line it looks like the NH with an 8 1/4" BH would probably suit me the best:)
Being a little on the tall side I think I would enjoy the longer ATA length too.
Very much appreciated. Thanks again, Dan

I agree with Loren and Nathan. I think it's all relative to draw length. A guy with a short draw doesn't really need 8" of bh, but the sooner the arrow leaves the bow the better off you are. I personally like to be 8"- 8 1/2". I shoot a 29 3/4" draw and I've found that this is what works best for me.

Thanks Eric,
You must be about the same height as me, about 6' 1" since our draw length is very close.
You and the others have given me great info and you all seem to share the same view.
I'm very grateful for the replies. It's great to have a team like yours so willing to help out.
BTW, that was great info you gave in the post regarding holding weight adjustment.
Since I have a good drill press and I know how to drill and tap, I would go with the cap screw method too.
Thanks again, Dan
