I noticed by the picture you posted on archery talk it "appeared" your mojo was pressed at the base of limb pockets on the limbs. I don't know if you just had it there for the picture or if they are supposed to be pressed that way. So do you press the mojos like the hoyts or on the riser like most standard bows?

BTW anyone can answer I just used Erics name because it was his picture. ;)

You should never press a bow on the riser if you can help it. The press rollers should be at the very ends of the riser as near to the limb pockets as possible as the help prevent the riser from being bent , twisted or worse.

Thanks for the input but I didn't mean in the middle of the riser. Near the pocket is still the riser. I haven't owned a Hoyt in years but I have worked on them. The dealer(s) have told me to press Hoyt’s on the limbs up against the pockets. At least on the previous year bows. With the 2006 models, the parallel limb designs and the riser changes you may can now press on the riser again, I don't know. Just looking at Eric’s picture it appeared this was how he was pressing the mojo. The design is different this year so I want to know if it needs to be pressed like that or was I misinterpreting the picture.

That is a great place to press almost any bow (referring to the pic). Eric has been extremely busy and I would imagine he hasn't had the time to answer many questions. Good luck!

Mikey, it is off the riser. Thats what I was saying about the Hoyts. When they came out with the Tec risers people were bending them in the press and this is where you are now supposed to press them. Like I said it may be different with the 2006's.

Nathan, thanks for you reply. From what you say it's ok to press there. The only problem is the press I use will not extend that far. So do they have to be pressed there or can you press on the riser?

I would not use something that pressed on the riser. It's not that I think the bow can't take it, but from experience I have found that it is best to not do that. With any bow!
