Eric, After meeting you at Lancaster Archery, while you were there and planning a big AR Blade display for the showroom, I bought a PSE Scorpion. It was late 2004 and when it came it had the upgraded NRG cam and the black harmonic dampers so I believe it is a 2005 model. I am very glad that you steered me in the direction of this bow. My only concern is that all of the written specs and all of the advise given on this forum say the draw stop should match the module. I have a #8 module and have a small string loop and the draw stop is in the #9 position. This set-up feels perfect to me. Should I have the cable twisted up a bit to allow me to move the stop to the #8 position? My string and cable are on the + posts and the draw stop is set for 80%. Thanks again for turning me on to this bow and please pass on the the powers that be that I think they are making a mistake by dropping this bow from the line-up.

If you've got a number 8 module you should technically be in the #8 drawstop position, but the beauty of this cam is versatility. If that's where it feels best to you and it's working than leave it. The only thing that's going on that could effect anything is that you have created a long valley. The problem with a long valley on this cam is that you have a larger area between when you fire and to when the cam picks up the power stroke. In this "dead area" you are more prone to form and execution mistakes being picked up. My guess is that if you moved the draw stop to the #8 keeping it on the 80% side your letoff won't change any. You will shorten your draw length by doing this so you will have to twist up your cable like you said. The other thing that will change is that the bow will feel a little snappier than before. This isn't really a bad thing though as I explained before, but it will feel a little different. If you've got a little time I would play with it. Try it back in the #8 position and see if it's better. I know you like your Scorpion a bunch, but you might like it even more after this change. If after the change you just don't like it as well move it back. Just mark your cam and make sure you keep track of how many twists you put in your cable. Are you going to the LAS Classic?

Thanks for the quick response! I'll play with things a bit now that I am done hunting for this year. No, I am not going to the shoot at Lancaster Archery unless I go to watch. I am not good enough to compete with the guys who come to this event. I will look for you if I come to watch. I hope you can show the Mathews guys a thing or two:D. Good Luck!
