View Full Version : Balancing Act

I just recently found a very good bow shop that I will be able to get to. It's about a 7 hour drive each way but the owner keeps his prices low enough that I think it will offset the fuel and hotel room costs. I think the trip will be well worth it.
In the spring I will plan on spending a couple days with him and return with a MOJO that is balanced to fit me. He says he carries everything an archer could possibly want or need. He even makes custom strings and is also a machinist and makes bow parts and stabs, etc.
I would like to have two setups for the bow. One with a long stab for long range shooting, and another with a shorter stab plus all the necessary weights for either setup.
I should be able to get it close while I'm there but expect to be spending a lot of time at home doing more fine tuning.
This will be new to me and I would like to make it easy to work with. Would I be better off to go with adjustable stabs or to work with adding or subtracting weights to tweak the balance?
Any other tips would be greatly appreciated too.
.....Thanks, Dan

I use Doinker carbon stabilizers in which I can adjust the balance by adding D.A.W.G. weights. They work extremely well and also do a very good job reducing vibration.

Thanks Nathan,
I just checked out Doinkers and D.A.W.G.s online. What a selection! I could easily spend a week trying out items and not get half way down the list. lol.
The shop owner really seems to know his stuff , so I think he can help out a lot in getting me down the right path too.
Many thanks again, Dan:)
